Urpemiere på "Nor Sea, nor Land, nor Salty Waves" av Roberto Bonati med Bjergsted jazzensemble på Stavanger Jazzforum

Nor Sea, nor Land, nor Salty Waves is the personal tribute to Norway written by the Italian composer Roberto Bonati: with his work Bonati wants to be captivated by the traditions and the culture of Scandinavian population, the mythological narrative and by the legend of Germanic heros. The Norwegian tradition saga, Poetic Edda ancient poems like Voluspa - Prophecy of the Völva (Seeress) - animate the notes and the composition of Nor Sea, nor Land, nor Salty Waves.
Bonati will conduct the Bjergsted Jazz Ensemble, a musical orchestration including 19 members, on this concert at Stavanger Jazzforum.

Since 2004, Bjergsted Jazz Ensemble has realised several impressive and exciting projects with some of jazz’s greatest stars, such as John Scofield, Richard Bona, Cyro Baptista, Rolf Lislevand and many more. For this year’s MaiJazz, they will be working together with Georg and Sarah Riedel and presenting music from the films based on Astrid Lindgren’s characters Pippi Longstocking, Emil and others.
Bjergsted Jazz Ensemble is an important platform for jazz students and freelancers in Stavanger. The line-up varies from project to project, but the common thread is high quality musicianship. For this concert, the ensemble will collaborate and work towards a concert with talented Italian bassist and educator Roberto Bonati, whom the Stavanger audience had the pleasure of experiencing at last year’s MaiJazz, together with Mario Piacentini and Gianluigi Trovesi.
